Blessed Miguel Agustín Pro (1891–1927) was a Mexican Jesuit priest
who secretly ministered to the faithful during the persecution of the Church.
He was executed for his faith, proclaiming with his last breath: “¡Viva Cristo Rey!” – “Long live Christ the King!”
In this icon, he holds the Crown of Thorns – a symbol of sacrifice, courage, and faith that conquers fear.
A fearless witness of Christ
Father Pro’s life radiated joy, humor, and deep trust in God,
even in the face of danger.
He is venerated as patron of priests, persecuted Christians, and defenders of faith.
Symbolism and craftsmanship
The golden background stands for the triumph of divine light,
while the Crown of Thorns represents Christ’s redemptive suffering.
Each icon is made on solid linden wood, hand-gilded,
